Transformation of Social Structure in Digital Society: Analysis of Network Sociology

This study investigates the transformation of social structures in digital society through the perspective of network sociology. A quantitative approach was employed by integrating Social Network Analysis with survey data collected from 200 active social media users, supported by interaction data from 500 public digital accounts. The analysis examined digital interaction intensity, power distribution, digital solidarity, and structural network characteristics. The findings indicate that digital platforms have become central spaces for communication, relationship building, and collective participation while simultaneously reinforcing algorithmic inequalities and concentrated patterns of influence. Digital interactions strengthen social solidarity and facilitate the emergence of hybrid social identities that combine online and offline social roles rather than replacing traditional identities. The study contributes to the development of network sociology by demonstrating how structural network properties and individual perceptions jointly explain social transformation in the digital era. These findings provide practical insights for policymakers and platform developers to promote inclusive digital governance, strengthen digital literacy, and support more equitable participation within increasingly interconnected digital communities.
