Declaration of Generative AI and AI Assisted Technologies
Authors are required to disclose any use of generative artificial intelligence (AI) or AI-assisted technologies in preparing their manuscripts at the time of submission. This policy aims to promote transparency, academic integrity, and responsible use of AI in scientific publishing. The provisions below apply primarily to the writing and preparation of manuscripts and do not restrict legitimate use of AI for basic data analysis or other technical purposes.
- Permitted Use of Generative AI - Generative AI and AI-assisted technologies may be used as supporting tools to improve the clarity, readability, grammar, language, and overall presentation of a manuscript. AI may also be used for language editing or translation, provided that its use does not alter the research findings, scientific arguments, or authors' interpretations. AI should remain a supporting tool and must not replace the authors' intellectual contribution, critical thinking, or scientific judgment.
- Human Responsibility and Verification - All AI-assisted content must be carefully reviewed and verified by the authors before submission. Authors are responsible for checking the accuracy of information, citations, references, interpretations, and other content generated or modified by AI. Full academic, ethical, and legal responsibility for the submitted and published manuscript remains with the authors.
- AI Cannot Be an Author - Generative AI tools and AI-assisted technologies must not be listed as authors or co-authors. Authorship requires intellectual contribution, accountability, and responsibility for the integrity of the published work, which can only be fulfilled by human contributors.
Required AI Declaration - If AI or AI-assisted technologies are used during manuscript preparation, authors must include a declaration immediately before the References section using the following format:
Declaration of Generative AI and AI-Assisted Technologies in the Writing Process
“During the preparation of this manuscript, the author(s) used [NAME OF TOOL/SERVICE] for [PURPOSE]. Following its use, the author(s) carefully reviewed and edited the content and assume full responsibility for the final published version.”
Authors should replace [NAME OF TOOL/SERVICE] and [PURPOSE] with accurate information describing the AI tool and its specific use.
Policy for Reviewers and Editors
To protect the confidentiality, copyright, and intellectual property of submitted manuscripts, reviewers and editors are strictly prohibited from uploading or sharing manuscripts under review with public generative AI systems, including ChatGPT and similar services, unless explicitly authorized by the journal. Reviewers and editors must maintain the confidentiality of all manuscript content throughout the peer-review process.
