Analysis of the Use of Chatgpt as a Media Learning Support Education Religion Islam in Mts Nuurul Haq

This study aims to analyze the utilization of ChatGPT as a supporting medium for Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning at MTs Nuurul Haq, Lampung Tengah Regency, North Sumatra. A qualitative descriptive method with a single case study approach was employed, involving two PAI teachers, one school principal, and twelve students from grades VII and VIII as research subjects. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation, then analyzed using the interactive analysis model by Miles, Huberman, and Saldana. The findings reveal that ChatGPT has been utilized primarily in lesson preparation stages, including composing material summaries, developing Islamic story illustrations, and creating diverse evaluation questions. ChatGPT was found to increase students' active participation in classroom discussions and enrich instructional delivery methods. However, several significant obstacles were identified: limited internet infrastructure, insufficient teacher competency in prompt engineering, inaccuracies in AI-generated religious content, and the absence of institutional guidelines for using ChatGPT in PAI. This study recommends digital literacy and prompt engineering training for PAI teachers, the development of Islam-values-based AI usage guidelines, and equitable digital infrastructure support from policymakers.
